Anchorage
Whittier/Girdwood
Fairbanks-Part 1
Fairbanks-Part 2
Fairbanks-part 3
Northpole, Glenallen, Mirror Lake
Worthington Glacier
Valdez

Alaska is truly the "Last Frontier". I picked up only one of the sands of this sea. I have never seen such vast mountain ranges and wilderness. I'm heading back some other time!

The next 5 videos are of Anchorage

Here is another Gulf Oil Interview

This is our host B&B. Ellen was gracious enough to pick me up at the airport

Ellen took me on a tour of Anchorage

Anchorage City Tour

Fidencio & Ellen took me to a Mexican Independence celebration in downtown Anchorage

Here is some moose that came in the back yard of the B&B

Alaskan Moose

The next 6 videos are of Whittier, Portage Glacier and Girdwood

I rented a car for 5 days and set out on a 1/2 day trip close to Anchorage to test Alaska out. I went on the Seward highway to Whittier and most of the way it was so foggy you couldn't see in front of you. But, lo and behold, just before the final turn to Whittier, the heavens opened up.
Wow, this 1/2 day trip was just a teaser to what you'll see.
At the beginning of this video, you'll see the moose that come into the yard of the B&B every morning-then you'll see when the heavens open up.

Seward Highway

This next video is of a 2 1/2 mile tunnel (the longest tunnel in North America) through a mountain that gets you to Whittier. It is actually for a train. But they allow cars every hour to go through this mountain. It is trippy!!!!!! You also get a view of my first glacier-Portage.

Portage Tunnel

You'll get your first view of Prince William Sound and the little town of Whittier

Whittier, Alaska

I take you on a little trip back to Portage Glacier with some Pink Floyd.
Check out these views-enjoy the music.

Portage Glacier/Pink Floyd

This is the last stop on my 1/2 day trip. I take a detour on the way back to Anchorage and stop at the ski town of Girdwood. Alaska has so many mountains, that I couldn't film enough of them.
So here is some more

Girdwood

The next 5 videos are of Mt. Denali & Fairbanks

I'm heading out of Anchorage to Mt. Denali (aka Mt. McKinley). What a sight. The tallest mountain in North America. I was at a view point that was over 40 miles away and it still looked massive.
Check it out

Mt. Denali

Alaska is so huge and full of wilderness that if your new to the area, you got to realize that the gas stations are few and far between. Yup, you guessed it-I ran out of gas. It took only 5 minutes for some friendly Alaskans to pick me up and take care of me. Thanx guys. Oh yeah, some more of that Alaskan Wilderness

On to Denali National Park

I'm heading to Fairbanks and the terrain changes from mountain ranges to rolling hills. What a variety of changes that Alaska has and I've only saw a small part of the state

On to Fairbanks

Here is our Fairbanks lodging sponsor

Alaska Heritage House

Here is some of downtown Fairbanks and my first view of the Alaska pipeline. Now what gets me is that Alaska is so brimming with oil that they had to build this ninth wonder of the world (used to be) and gas is more than they charge here in Vegas. WHAT IS GOING ON!
The locals should get a break...don't you think?

Fairbanks-Alaska Pipeline

The next 5 videos are of a local and native giving me a whirlwind tour of the Fairbanks area

Van, the owner of The Alaska Heritage House B&B and her good friend Valerie gave me a million dollar tour of the Fairbanks area. In this video you'll see a Muskox farm. Check out the hair on these dudes

Fairbanks Tour

We are on top on Ester Dome near Fairbanks. Check out these views!!
Find out how Fairbanks was founded.

Fairbanks Tour 2

Check out this Outhouse

Alaskan Outhouse

In this video, you'll see a local watering hole that the pope and ronald reagan visited. You'll find out who was the originator of the "Alaskan Gold Rush"

Fairbanks Tour 3

In this video, we eat at the Chatanika lodge-check out all the animals inside this lodge. Then you'll see the gas station/restaurant made famous by the Ice Road Truckers. This is the last stop to get gas on the way to Barrow.

Fairbanks Tour 4

The next 4 videos are of the Chena Hot Springs

Here is a fine example of a business not using fossil fuel. There using GEOTHERMAL energy.

Gulf Oil Interviews, Info & More 11

In this video I head to Chena Hot Springs-a natural hot springs resort-about 50 miles from Fairbanks. You'll see they have their own greenhouse for the restaurant.

Chena Hot Springs

They also have an Ice Museum where world champion ice carvers show off their sculptors. The only thing missing is the footage of me drinking a martini made by Nick out of an glass made of ice at the ice lounge. (I pressed the wrong button-hey it was a good Alaskan martini)

Chena Ice Museum

Now you'll get to see the restaurant with some of the greens right from their greenhouse and the famous hot springs. I stayed in them for over 2 hours. aaaaaaahhhhhhhh

Chena restaurant & hot springs

The next 4 videos are of Northpole,
Glenallen & Mirror Lake

Here is the first of our Valdez Oil Spill Interviews. The people in the upcoming interviews have direct experience with what it's like before, during and still after.

Valdez Oil Spill Interviews, Info & More 1

Can you believe it. I've been to the North Pole....Alaska that is.
Check out this little town that capitalizes on the holiday.

Northpole, Alaska

I go through the town of Glenallen, this video is mostly to show the fall colors in Alaska before they are gone. I had perfect timing.

Glenallen

This lake is so awesome. It's called Pippin Lake, but I renamed it Mirror lake.
Check it out and find out why!!

Mirror Lake

The next 6 videos are of Worthington Glacier and a 2 part Valdez Oil spill interview

This is Stan Stephens-he owns a tour business in Valdez

Valdez Oil Interviews 2-Stan Stephens

Valdez Oil Interviews-Stan Stephens 2

I heading to Worthington Glacier. Check out all the bright fall colors.
The rest of the videos of this great Alaskan adventure are some of most scenic I've seen of Alaska with more mountains (there getting craggier), glaciers, rivers and waterfalls

On to Worthington Glacier

Here is the biggest, bad-ass glacier that I've seen yet.

Worthington Glacier

You'll see the back side of Worthington Glacier and Thompson Pass.
There was mountains at every turn-the video does not do this justice.
YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Worthington Glacier-Thompson Pass

Here is a canyon I ran into going down Thompson Pass.
Check out the many waterfalls from glacial run-offs

Keystone Canyon-Bridal Veil Falls

The next 8 videos are of Valdez

Here is a 3 part interview with the director of the RCAC-Regional Citizens Advisory Council-Mark Swanson. This council gave advice and assisted the Gulf Oil citizens with their experience.

Valdez

Here's our Valdez lodging sponsor

Downtown B&B

Here is the harbor

Valdez Harbor

I got so close to a glacier that I touched it's ice. Check it out.

Valdez Glacier

In this video I'll show you another world traveler like myself; where Valdez used to be situated; the very end of the pipeline and the closest way I'll get to see the Aurora Borealis at the Anchorage Airport. What a trip and a half!!!!

Old Town Valdez

We took a break and continued the second half of this journey
